On this day of Holy Week, we begin what is calle the Easter Triduum - one service over three days.
On Maundy Thursday, we recall the last supper Jesus shared with his disciples and his new commandment to love one another as he has loved his disciples as he washed their feet. The service ends with the stripping of the altar and in darkness, recalling Jesus being arrested and stripped of his clothing.
