The Rev. Brendon Bedford joined the Christ Church community as the parish's Assistant Curate in May of 2022.
Fr. Brendon is originally from Scarborough, Ontario where he lived until departing for post-secondary studies, having worshiped at St. Jude's Anglican Church (Wexford). He studied Political Science and Music at the University of Waterloo, being granted a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts (Political Science), and was active in the St. Bede's Chapel community at Rension University College.
After a period of time working within the Government of Ontario, Brendon relocated to Kitchener and began work in Advancement and Alumni Affairs at Renison University College, the Anglican affiliated college at the University of Waterloo, where he worked to build and support relationships between the College and various stakeholders.
During this time, Brendon discerned a call to ordained ministry in the Anglican Church and began his seminary education at Huron University College, being granted a Master of Divinity degree in 2022.
Brendon was ordained to the Diaconate on the Feast of St. Andrew in 2021 and began to serve as Deacon Assistant to the Rector at the Church of the Holy Saviour (Waterloo).
He was appointed as Assistant Curate of Christ Church in May 2022 and relocated to Meaford with his wife and two children. Fr. Brendon was ordained to the priesthood on the Eve of Pentecost in 2022 at St. George's Anglican Church, Owen Sound.
Fr. Brendon is passionate about liturgy and sacred music in the Anglican tradition, sharing the Gospel message in relationship with others, growing and serving the parish community, and engaging with the wider community around the parish with an eye to mission and service.
In 2023, Brendon was appointed by the Bishop as the Chaplain to the Brotherhood of Anglican Churchmen (Diocese of Huron) and was elected to the board of the Grey Bruce Spiritual Care Council.
Fr. Brendon is also an ardent Toronto Maple Leafs fan who believes there is something to be learned about Christian patience, waiting, and hope by supporting this team.
